Employers with employees taking leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act or the Oregon Family Leave Act often face disruptions and potential abuse from employees using their leave on an intermittent basis. However, new FMLA regulations from the Department of Labor present several permissible methods for employers to manage intermittent leave and potentially deter abuse.
