On September 25, 2008, President Bush signed into law the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (the Act). The Act, which goes into effect January 1, 2009, significantly broadens the scope of the ADA and the protections afforded to individuals with physical or mental impairments. This Employment Alert discusses the effect the Act will have on Oregon employers.
